Let's fold it!
1
Start with a rectangle
Lay one sheet of origami paper flat on the table. Make sure the colored side is face-down (or pick whichever side you like better — both work!).
2
Fold in half top to bottom
Bring the top edge down to meet the bottom edge. Smooth the crease with your thumb. Unfold it — you now have a crease line down the middle.
3
Fold the top corners to the middle
Take the top-right corner and fold it down so that the tip lands on the middle crease. Do the same with the top-left corner. You'll have a triangle pointing up.
4
Fold the triangle sides to the center
Fold the pointy triangle's two side edges inward so they meet at the center crease. It should look like a narrower triangle now.
5
Fold the whole thing in half
Fold the whole plane in half along the original center crease you made in Step 2. The colored side should be on the outside now.
6
Make the wings
Fold each side outward — this time the side that's been folded is facing down. Fold about 1/3 of each wing down, parallel to the bottom edge.
7
Open and fly!
Open up the fold you made in Step 5. Your plane is ready! Hold it by the bottom point, pull back, and let it go!
Pro Tips for a Great Flight
Fold along a straight edge — the sharper your creases, the better your plane flies.
Adjust the wings: fold them up a little for loops, keep them flat for straight flights.
If your plane dives, bend the back edge of the wings slightly upward — this gives it lift.
Try the other two sheets with different wing angles and see which flies best!
